Description
"Big Rock Candy Mountain" by TL Mair
As you travel down Utah's highway 89, through Marysvale Canyon everything looks pretty much the way south central Utah looks, until you come around the bend and see Big Rock Candy Mountain standing starkly against the cedar covered mountains that surround her.
Big Rock Candy Mountain was formed thousands of years ago by volcanic activity in the area, steam, and sulfur eroded the volcanic deposits and formed the beautiful colors of the mountain.
Rich Yellow, and some reddish brown form the main part of the mountain, with a few scattered pine trees, this is a must see if you find yourself in south central Utah.
From the cabins, and camp sites at Big Rock Candy Mountain you can access the Piute trail system, there are hundreds of dirt roads, and trails just waiting for you to ride on!!
